Raw fleece string

A lovely day working was had yesterday at the Makers Workshop in Burnie. I was joined by Rebecca, a visiting basket maker from the mainland. We did lots of talking and sharing of ideas, and also lots of string making. We both made raw fleece string as we love the look and feel of it. I was very impressed with Rebecca's finished work, shown here modelled on a glad wrapped florence(usually required for paper molding, hence the glad wrap).

string, glorious string.

Yes, i am making string. After a nice short break where i relaxed and caught up with my mum, I am back to work. I have been commissioned to create lots of string, this will form part of an installtion. I will give you more details as the project unfolds, or unravels.... Lets just say, that this happy girl will back making lots and lots of string!!!
