I recently made a new product for my growing range of clothes. Here is the child's Cape I made. It is made from a repurposed 100% woollen blanket, felted and cut into a cape, and lined with red linen.
It has a hand sewn snowflake detail, with baby doileys and buttons. It is reversible, the red linen side has baby doileys and vintage and collected buttons.
This cape has been sold, thanks to the lovely lady who bought it! I have a few more capes in progress and will be selling them through Nest, Penguin if you are interested.
Little people would look great in a reversible cape and one of my snuggly long sleeve suits.
These are available in my online shop, Nest Penguin and the Makers Workshop, Burnie. Colours red, white, black, grey and black. Sizes 3-6 months through to children's sizes, long and short sleeve suits and t-shirts.
Designs available on shirts include ,'Love is a Peck-e', 'Love is a Penguin' and 'Love is a Popcorn'

A lovely day was had with a group of the North West Coast Home school families. The day; a lovely autumn morning, was crisp and frosty. We all wound our way out to Prue and Ono's house, through farmland and forest. I was greeted by happy children working in the veggie garden, surrounded by chickens. Parents and children arrived full of energy and enthusiasm. We set to work. Eager children looked intently into the garden, admiring the spiders work covered with dew drops. Taking our cue from the... Continue reading...

10,000 minutes of plastic.
A project by Janine Morris of second Sister.
365 days of collecting plastic for 1/2 hour each day. This equals over 10,000 minutes of collecting time.
This project is about the plastic I collect in one year, and represents plastic for a week of our life. A small snapshot of our reliance on plastic, our consumerism, lack of respect for ourselves and all that we share our planet with.
This project is about the reliance we have on plastic in our everyday life.
