I am pleased to say that the Nest-y feeling i had, (and still have), has hatched. I have been busy creating nests and homes for nests lately. Something about Spring, a time to clean and sort out our Nest perhaps.

I'm feeling Nest-y.
I'm in a Nest-y kind of mood at the moment. You can see it in my latest work.

Father's Day
Tomorrow is the day we say thanks and give love to all the dads out there. To celebrate this in Penguin, there will be general joy and happiness in the 'Paris' end of town. Shops will be thrown open and children welcomed with everyone catered for. Look for the jumping castle kids! I will be providing for FREE a Bunting making table. I recently made a new product for my growing range of clothes. Here is the child's Cape I made. It is made from a repurposed 100% woollen blanket, felted and cut into a cape, and lined with red linen.
It has a hand sewn snowflake detail, with baby doileys and buttons. It is reversible, the red linen side has baby doileys and vintage and collected buttons.

string, glorious string.
Yes, i am making string. After a nice short break where i relaxed and caught up with my mum, I am back to work. I have been commissioned to create lots of string, this will form part of an installtion. I will give you more details as the project unfolds, or unravels.... Paper dress
Pam Thorne - Paper people sculpturer and myself entered into the Burnie City Council 'Paper Dress' competion. We went all out with a life size ball gown. It was made with recycled paper mill paper, handmade 'Creative paper' paper (Handmade paper factory called 'Creative Paper', located in new Makers workshop in Burnie, Tasmania), recycled paper dress patterns and lots of glue, and painted with tea.

Wrap skirts
Now stocked in Nest are my new 100% woollen blankets upcycled and felted into wrap skirts. They come in five different sizes, adult, small adult child 4-6 years, toddler and newborn. Each skirt is an original and cannot be repeated. Wrap skirts have side pockets and hand stitched details of circles and vintage buttons.
