I am very lucky to live in a beautiful place called Penguin. Nestled along the coast of the North West of Tasmania, near by, but not too close to two cities. A nice little town whose main street is 'just over from the beach'. My children can swim or walk on the beach every afternoon. Town is a short walk away from home, and we have many great small business that offer most things you really need, ie, a great coffee shop, gift shop with local work and choices of supermarkets.

Busy busy busy
It has been a busy month of working and creating. An extension on my string project has allowed some new projects to start. I have been busily creating new denim wrap skirt designs (i have not yet mastered the digital technology needed for the Dolly skirts, but i'm nearly there!!). I hope to have a few ready soon.
Pam Thorne and I have being playing at the Makers Workshop, Burnie. I have a great love for nests, here are some i have picked up, one from the beach.

A lovely day working was had yesterday at the Makers Workshop in Burnie. I was joined by Rebecca, a visiting basket maker from the mainland. We did lots of talking and sharing of ideas, and also lots of string making. We both made raw fleece string as we love the look and feel of it. I was very impressed with Rebecca's finished work, shown here modelled on a glad wrapped florence(usually required for paper molding, hence the glad wrap). Paper dress
Pam Thorne - Paper people sculpturer and myself entered into the Burnie City Council 'Paper Dress' competion. We went all out with a life size ball gown. It was made with recycled paper mill paper, handmade 'Creative paper' paper (Handmade paper factory called 'Creative Paper', located in new Makers workshop in Burnie, Tasmania), recycled paper dress patterns and lots of glue, and painted with tea.
